Is blogging still a thing? What started as a fashion blog, I now think of as a great little...gem? To hold onto as I look back at my experiences in the past few years. Different jobs and boyfriends. Some of the same friends. Always the excitement and let-downs of callbacks and screen tests.

I'm always the most inspired in November, in part because it's my birthday month and for some reason I usually forget about this thing until then...when thinking of my buddies from back home reminds me of it.

Or maybe it's because I just (belatedly) binge read and watched Gone Girl and am starting my own diary... just kidding :)

Mostly it's just fun to look back at & laugh at myself.

And at one point it was co-written with my friend Lindi. Lindi...are you there...get the hint?

I like taking notes as time goes by. A running inventory, if you will. Things like personal style. So simple these days. T-shirt and jeans, always. Am I lazy or just getting older and more of a uniform? I used to be so glitzy and glam. Thank god I'm over that.

The summer was so brutally slow for acting that I practically watched it blow by like a cloud changing shape. But the times I had with co-workers at side jobs we ended up having to take, and the many a late summer's night, reminiscent of my teenage years, were unrivaled.

It's hard for life to be consistent when these careers don't come with a yearly salary and predictable forecast. But after this long I know it's all a part of the terrain and I've come to peace with that. My family's trust is even hard to maintain at times. I mean, when things are slow and I'm eating ramen, all looks dreary from afar, I'm sure. But they always have my back in the end. All in all, it was a good year for sorting the good and the bad. And if there is one take-away, it's this... Never give up. Whatever you're doing. Just don't. Simple.

february fun

What a fun month. Full of family, boyfriend, work, and at the end, vacation. i finally got to see where my sister lives in Belize and meet her fun in-laws to be. Lots of fun call-backs and lots of fun w/ for the stylist i work for, the MegGallagher brand is getting bigger everyday. We attended the Who What Wear party a couple nights ago and Meg was entered into a contest to win best dressed for Spring 2012. She also gets a $500 gift card, which we're trying to give away to a lucky voter. The contest ends at 11:59 tonight, so if you could take two seconds to vote.... she's number #35 ;) for some reason it feels like summer's around the corner, even though it's a rainy day. wasn't sure what i'd be getting into now that more free time has seemed to of surfaced, but a lil boyfriend birdie surprised me with a package full of dance classes, so maybe a bit more of that. he does good. here's some pics of our trip, which has put me into summer mode way too early. oh well.

birthday!

November is my favorite month and here's why. My birthday's right in the middle so I usually accrue lots of luck around then. Amongst booking some of my favorite jobs, I celebrated my birthday as long as I possibly could. I saw Melancholia at the Nuart, which is now more or less my favorite movie of the year. Saw Mates of State at the El Rey, which is a miracle for me because I never get to see live music, and discovered a new microbrewery. I went out to celebrate the stylist I work for at the french brasserie Comme Ca and had my first burger in 10 years.. delic. On my bday I started off the day with a lush brunch with my dad and then walked around some shops before he left town. That night a few of us went to Bar Marmont for drinks. I had my first Pimm's Cup and got an awesome camera that I still don't know how to work. oy. But I DiD round up some photos, and i never upload photos. Thank you november, you will be missed!
